Lamentations 2:9-11

⁹ Her ^(A)gates have sunk into the ground,
He has destroyed and broken her bars.
Her king and her leaders are among the nations;
The ^(B)Law is gone.
Her prophets, too, find
^(C)No vision from the Lord.
¹⁰ The elders of the daughter of Zion
^(D)Sit on the ground and ^[a](E)are silent.
They have thrown ^(F)dust on their heads;
They have put on ^(G)sackcloth.
The ^(H)virgins of Jerusalem
Have bowed their heads to the ground.
¹¹ My ^(I)eyes fail because of tears,
My ^[b](J)spirit is greatly troubled;
My ^[c](K)heart is poured out on the earth
^(L)Because of the ^[d]destruction of the daughter of my people,
When ^(M)little ones and infants languish
In the streets of the city.
